Al-Maarif University Sustainability Initiatives
Al-Maarif University is one of the biggest private universities located in the western part of Iraq, in the Governorate of Anbar. It has been established as a non-profit educational institution that serves students from local, regional, and international communities.
One of its basic goals is to meet the educational needs of students enrolled in its various departments and to preserve promising learning opportunities for future generations. This aligns with the framework of Sustainable Development, which addresses the social, economic, and environmental needs of people while managing human and natural resources efficiently.
College Anti-Poverty Programs
- Al-Maarif University aims to reduce excessive poverty among students.
- The University contributes to reducing poverty levels by providing meals to students living in student hostels during Ramadan.
- In accordance with the regulations of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education, students are required to wear uniforms with specific colors to reduce visible social differences among students.
- Al-Maarif University supports closing gender gaps in education and improving access to effective resources, especially for girls from rural areas.
- The Student Club and restaurant provide food and refreshments at relatively low prices, helping students reduce daily expenses.
