Introduction

The University of Al-Maarif (UOA) demonstrates a strong and ongoing commitment to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by actively extending learning opportunities beyond its enrolled student community. Through the organization of public educational events, open lectures, workshops, training sessions, cultural forums, scientific seminars, and awareness campaigns, the university works to ensure that education is accessible, inclusive, and available to all members of society.

These initiatives are rooted in the university’s belief that knowledge should not be limited to the boundaries of academic classrooms but must be shared publicly to uplift and empower communities, strengthen intellectual development, and enhance national capacity in alignment with Iraq’s strategic goals for socioeconomic advancement.

UOA’s public educational activities are implemented collaboratively through:

  • The Deanship of Student Affairs

  • The Sustainability and Global Ranking Unit

  • The Lifelong Learning and Continuing Education Center

  • Various academic departments and laboratories
