The College of Science – Department of Life Sciences held its first scientific seminar in conjunction with the World Epidemics Day, entitled “Life Sciences and Forensic Evidence in Early Detection and Preparedness for Epidemics.” The seminar was organized as part of the department’s scientific plan aimed at enhancing scientific research and promoting academic awareness of contemporary health issues.
The seminar featured the participation of Professor Dr. Safaa Abdul Latif Al-Ma‘eeni, Professor of Biotechnology at the College of Science, University of Anbar, and Professor of Genetic Engineering at Lund University, Sweden, as well as Dr. Hassan Falah Lahej Al-Dulaimi, Head of the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Al Maarif. They presented specialized scientific topics addressing the role of life sciences and forensic evidence in the early detection of epidemics, along with mechanisms for preparedness and response based on modern scientific methodologies.
This seminar comes within the framework of the College of Science’s efforts to enhance scientific integration among disciplines and to support research activities that contribute to serving the community and advancing the healthcare system.
