Awareness Activity on Vitamin D3 Organized by the College of Pharmacy

As part of the awareness activities organized by the College of Pharmacy at Al-Maarif University to enhance health awareness among students and the community, an educational activity titled “What is Vitamin D3?” was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maisaa Ali Abdulkhaliq, Asst. Lecturer Abeer Abdullah Hamed, and Asst. Lecturer Ammar Yasser from the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Clinical Pharmacy.

The activity included preparing and distributing an awareness brochure that provided a simple explanation of Vitamin D3 and its importance in the human body, highlighting its role in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus to maintain healthy bones, teeth, and muscles. The brochure also shed light on the symptoms of vitamin deficiency such as bone pain, persistent fatigue, and weakened immunity. In addition, it explained the most important natural sources of Vitamin D3, including exposure to sunlight, fatty fish, and fortified dairy products.
