Awareness Dialogue Session on Ending Violence Against Women at Al-Maarif University

Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Razzaq Al-Saadi, President of Al-Maarif University, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the College of Pharmacy and the Love and Peace Forum for Students and Youth, organized an awareness dialogue session as part of the 16 Days Campaign to End Violence Against Women, under the slogan:

“Ending Violence Against Women: From Awareness to Change.”

The session was attended by a distinguished group of members and speakers, including:

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibtisam Al-Abbousi – Dean of the College of Pharmacy
  • Prof. Dr. Khalid Awad Al-Awani – Dean of the College of Law
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Rashid – Academic at the University of Anbar
  • Lect. Dr. Makarim Al-Turki – Head of the Administrative Board of the Love and Peace Forum

The session addressed several important themes, highlighting the forms of violence against women, its causes, and its psychological and social effects, while emphasizing the role of academic institutions in raising community awareness and supporting efforts to reduce this phenomenon.

The event also contributed to promoting a culture of constructive dialogue among students, encouraging them to adopt the values of respect and equality, and supporting community initiatives aimed at protecting women’s rights and strengthening social peace.

This session is part of a series of awareness activities organized by Al-Maarif University in support of humanitarian and community efforts, in line with its academic mission of serving society.
