Cultural Seminar Entitled “Poetry in Literary Genres” |
On Tuesday, 10th October 2025, the Department of Arabic Language at Al-Maarif University College organized a cultural seminar entitled “Poetry in Literary Genres.” The seminar explored the aesthetic and critical dimensions of poetry across classical and modern genres, highlighting language, imagery, and structure. It was delivered by Mustafa Sajid and Ruaa Basheer, who presented insightful analyses and illustrative examples. The event was attended by Muthanna Abd Al-Wahab, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, along with faculty members and students. The seminar encouraged academic dialogue, enriched literary appreciation, and strengthened cultural engagement within the university community overall. |

Uoa Conducted Memorandums of Understanding with Iranian Universities during the Week of Science |
Al-Maarif University concluded several memorandums of understanding during the Science Week between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, strengthening academic cooperation between the two countries. The agreements were signed by the Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs, Mahmood Abd Al-Razaq Abd Al-Rahman, on behalf of the Dean, in the presence of Faris Mahdi Alwan. The memorandums included cooperation with Kharazmi University, University of Ilam, Tarbiat Modares University, Technical and Vocational University, and Bu-Ali Sina University. The agreements focused on research collaboration, joint supervision, student exchange, fellowships, cultural programs, joint projects, laboratory services, curriculum development, and forming a joint committee to follow up implementation. |

AUC Participated in the Artistic Activities Course |
From 29 October to 2 November 2023, Al-Maarif University College participated in a skills development course for artistic activities held at Al Ain University in Dhi Qar Governorate. The course aimed to enhance students’ participation and abilities in artistic and cultural programs, as part of the college’s support for the 2023-2024 academic year student activities. Asst. Lec. Ibrahim Hatim Ibrahim from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science attended the course and was awarded the Shield of Excellence for his performance. This activity reflects the college’s commitment to educational enrichment, cultural engagement, and promoting skills development beyond the classroom. |

On 23rd December 2023, the Department of Arabic Language at Al-Maarif University College celebrated the International Day of the Arabic Language (Day of Dhad) under the slogan “Between Past and Present, Zero Distance.” The event featured literary performances and an art exhibition showcasing students’ handicrafts reflecting Arabic linguistic and cultural heritage. |
