Al-Maarif University College Strengthens Arab and International Scientific Partnerships at the 5th Creativity and Innovation Conference
Al-Maarif University College, represented by Dr. Mohammed Ismat, participated in the Fifth Conference on Creativity and Innovation, held under the patronage and supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at Al-Nahriya University, with the participation of 25 Arab and foreign countries.
On the sidelines of the conference, meetings were held with several Arab delegations from universities in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya, during which agreements were made on joint cooperation in the field of scientific research and the organization of joint conferences, in a manner that contributes to the development of scientific research and enhances openness to Arab universities.

On 17th October 2025, the Department of Civil Engineering at Al-Maarif University held a scientific seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence in Civil Engineering.” Asst. Lec. Rawaa Ahmadi explained how AI simulates human intelligence and highlighted its benefits, including preventing cost overruns, improving project planning, and increasing workplace productivity. Asst. Lec. Noor Jabbar presented key engineering software using AI, such as Revit, Civil 3D, Ansys, and STAAD Pro. The seminar featured a practical demonstration using ChatGPT to design a room and calculate the number of floors. University Of Al-Maarif Participated in Iraq-Iran Science Week with Sixty Universities
On Saturday, 7 October 2025, the Science Week between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran was launched with the participation of sixty universities and institutions from both countries. Al-Maarif University College took part under the leadership of Dr. Mahmood Abd Al-Razaq Abd Al-Rahman and Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalaf. The event highlighted the strong coordination between the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and its Iranian counterpart. A Practical Training for Civil Engineering Students at UOA
On Wednesday, 8 October 2025, the Department of Civil Engineering at University of Al-Maarif conducted a practical training session for second-year students. The training focused on measuring distances between points that cannot be accessed directly. Students learned to establish columns along a straight line, connect reference points, and measure required distances accurately. They then applied the principles of triangle similarity to calculate unknown distances. This hands-on exercise enhanced students’ practical engineering skills, reinforced theoretical knowledge from their courses, and prepared them for real-world surveying tasks, ensuring they can apply geometric and mathematical concepts effectively in civil engineering projects.

On Sunday, 3rd December 2023, the Unit of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation held a scientific workshop entitled “Global Ranking” in cooperation with the Section of Quality Assurance and University Performance – University of Baghdad. On Tuesday, 19th December 2023, Al-Maarif University College held a meeting with Kharazmi University, Tehran, to establish active collaboration. The delegation included Dr. Mahmood Abd Al-Razaq, Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalaf, Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Mohammed Khalid Al-Omar, Head of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar Hamid, Director of the Continuing Learning Unit. Key topics discussed included joint research projects, student exchange, mutual fellowships, cultural and sports programs, laboratory and equipment sharing, and curriculum consultations.
