The President of University of Al Maarif, together with the Dean of the College of Law, received a delegation from the Office of the Human Rights Commission in Anbar, headed by the Director of the Office, Mr. Mohammed Qasim Hussein, and the accompanying delegation, who made an official visit to the University. During the visit, discussions were held on the state of human rights in Iraq in general and in Anbar Governorate in particular, as well as the role of universities in promoting constitutional guarantees for human rights in light of international standards. The delegation expressed its appreciation and commendation for the role of University of Al Maarif and the effectiveness of its activities in this regard. The Director of the Commission’s Office then presented a letter of thanks and appreciation issued by the Minister of Justice, who is entrusted with administering the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq, addressed to Prof. Dr. Khalid Awad Al-Alwani, in recognition of the efforts exerted to support and ensure the success of the Commission’s activities and programs and to promote a culture of human rights. Afterwards, the Dean of the College of Law also received the Shield of Creativity and Excellence, presented by the Office of the Human Rights Commission in Anbar in appreciation of these efforts.
