The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Maarif University Holds a Scientific Symposium


Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Maarif University, and in cooperation with Continuing Education Center, the College held a scientific symposium on Saturday, November 8, 2025, entitled:

“The Impact of Drug and Stimulant Addiction on the Cognitive Processes of Athletes and University Students.”

The symposium was presented by:
• Brigadier Khalil Dahham Khalaf – Al-Anbar Police Command
• Dr. Mohammed Hammoud Zaidan – Al-Anbar Police Command
• Researcher Mohammed Tamir – Al-Anbar Police Command
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahmood Rasheed Saeed – University of Al Maarif / College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

The symposium aimed to clarify the dangers of drug and stimulant addiction on mental and psychological abilities, highlight their negative effects in both sports and academic environments, and promote community awareness regarding the risks these phenomena pose to youth and university students.

At the end of the symposium, the Dean of the College, Dr. Muneer Abdullah Khudhur, and the Assistant Dean, Dr. Abdulraheem Noori Harbi, presented letters of appreciation to the presenters in recognition of their scientific contributions and valuable participation in the success of the symposium.
