This department was established in 2001 and began teaching in the academic year 2002 – 2003.
The Objectives of the Department of Computer Science:
1. Preparing an educated generation with experience in computers.
2. Graduated proficient students in computer science to benefit from them in the development of electronic devices “computer”.
3. Graduation of students capable of designing, updating and developing the data application and software.
4. Training a professional staff in accordance with international standards.
5. Termination of vacancies in all Iraqi colleges for teaching staff and training.
The Vision
The department aspires to open branches in the fields of computer science, such as software, information systems, artificial intelligence, and data security. The department will also activate the specialized consultancy office in the electronic field for government and private institutions. The department aspires to establish courses for the employees of the departments through this office as well as the Department aspires to convert the Department of Computer Science to the Department of Computer Engineering.
The Mission The creation of a specialized generation in computer science that has the ability to deal with the data of this technology maintenance and operation. And the design of modern scientific programs keeps abreast of modern developments
