Introduction

The University of Al-Maarif (UOA) plays a central role in strengthening the quality of education in Iraq by preparing highly qualified educators who are capable of teaching effectively at the primary school level. This mission aligns directly with the goals of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), which emphasizes the importance of improving teaching capacities and increasing the supply of professionally trained teachers worldwide.

As one of the leading private academic institutions in the Al-Anbar region, UOA places strategic emphasis on the cultivation of skilled teachers who are not only knowledgeable in subject content, but also proficient in pedagogical theory, classroom management, inclusive education, and ethical and social responsibility. The university recognizes that the foundation of any well-functioning education system lies in the capacity of its teaching workforce, especially at the primary schooling stage, where children form cognitive, emotional, and social patterns that influence their development throughout life.

To fulfill this responsibility, UOA offers specialized academic programs through the College of Education, the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences, and related units that train students in curriculum design, developmental psychology, learning assessment, and innovative teaching methodologies. These programs integrate theoretical foundations with practical, school-based training, ensuring that graduates enter the teaching profession with strong academic grounding and applied classroom experience.
