On Monday, 9th October 2023, the Department of Arabic Language at Al-Maarif University College held a ceremonial event to commemorate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). The ceremony reflected deep spiritual and cultural values, as it included a series of speeches and poetic recitations expressing love, reverence, and admiration for the Great Prophet. The presented poems highlighted his noble character, moral teachings, and lasting impact on humanity. Faculty members and students attended the event, which aimed to strengthen religious awareness, promote ethical values, and foster a sense of unity and respect within the university community. On Tuesday, 17th October 2023, the Department of Arabic Language at Al-Maarif University College organized a cultural seminar entitled “The Weird Wonder of Meanings and Compositions in a Strange Modern Language and Result.” The seminar was opened by Asst. Lec. Ahmed Mohammed Jassim, while the main lecture was delivered by Dr. Mohammed Tawfiq Abdul-Mohsen. He discussed the richness of Arabic language meanings and how multiple meanings can be derived from a single word or structure, drawing examples from the Holy Quran, the Prophet’s sayings, and classical Arabic literature. The seminar aimed to highlight linguistic depth and included interactive discussions on the impact of meanings in both classical and modern Arabic. |

AUC Celebrated the Day of (Letter of Dhad)On Saturday, 23rd December 2023, the Department of Arabic Language at Al-Maarif University College celebrated the International Day of Arabic Language (Day of Dhad) under the slogan (Between Past and Present, Zero Distance), the first day included the celebration of words and poems.Dr. Muthanna Abdulwahab, the Deputy Dean for Administrative Affairs opened the art exhibition for handicrafts for students of the Arabic Language Department, which dealt with the literary and scientific heritage of this immortal language. |
