Administrative Support for Interdisciplinary Research
The University of Al-Maarif fosters interdisciplinary research through comprehensive administrative services that streamline research operations, enhance academic collaboration, and stimulate scientific innovation. The Dean of Scientific Research provides strategic leadership, while the following specialized offices and units provide operational support.
1. Interdisciplinary Research Committee
A specialized body responsible for formulating policies, directing strategies, evaluating the current state of research, proposing development pathways, organizing capacity-building workshops, and recommending the formation of interdisciplinary research teams.
2. Deanship of Scientific Research & Postgraduate Studies
Oversees the management and coordination of interdisciplinary research projects across the university’s colleges, providing strategic alignment with international ranking criteria and national development priorities.
3. Interdisciplinary Research Funding & Support Unit
Provides consultations on grant applications and funding strategies, supporting faculty in securing research income from national and international funding sources.
4. Research Partnerships & Scientific Collaboration Office
Facilitates local and international research partnerships, manages MoU-based collaborations, and enhances cooperation among the university’s researchers, Iraqi institutions, and global academic partners.
5. Scientific Publishing & Research Communication Unit
Supports researchers in preparing and publishing interdisciplinary work in Scopus-indexed and internationally ranked journals while managing the university’s research visibility through scientific citation platforms.
6. Electronic Research Management Systems
Integrated digital platforms for monitoring, documenting, and analyzing research projects, tracking output metrics, and maintaining compliance with institutional research standards.
7. Research Ethics & Institutional Review Board
Ensures adherence to ethical and research standards in all interdisciplinary projects, with particular attention to clinical research and human subject studies.
8. Research Training & Capacity Building Unit
Provides workshops, training courses, and faculty development programs to build interdisciplinary research skills and foster cross-disciplinary academic collaboration.
9. Research Performance Evaluation Unit
Monitors and analyses the quality and impact of interdisciplinary research through performance indicators, citation rates (FWCI), international collaboration metrics, and bibliometric analysis.
10. College Research Committees
Guide, organize, and coordinate interdisciplinary publishing within and beyond the university, ensuring integrated research efforts across all colleges.
11. Health Workforce Development Centre
Provides multidisciplinary workforce training and research support, bridging health education, social sciences, and health policy research.
