{"id":6103,"date":"2026-01-06T13:07:29","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T13:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sustainability.uoa.edu.iq\/?p=6103"},"modified":"2026-01-06T13:07:29","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T13:07:29","slug":"awareness-dialogue-session-on-ending-violence-against-women-at-al-maarif-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sustainability.uoa.edu.iq\/index.php\/2026\/01\/06\/awareness-dialogue-session-on-ending-violence-against-women-at-al-maarif-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Awareness Dialogue Session on Ending Violence Against Women at Al-Maarif University"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Under the patronage of <strong>Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Razzaq Al-Saadi<\/strong>, President of <strong>Al-Maarif University<\/strong>, the <strong>Women\u2019s Affairs Unit<\/strong>, in cooperation with the <strong>College of Pharmacy<\/strong> and the <strong>Love and Peace Forum for Students and Youth<\/strong>, organized an <strong>awareness dialogue session<\/strong> as part of the <strong>16 Days Campaign to End Violence Against Women<\/strong>, under the slogan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cEnding Violence Against Women: From Awareness to Change.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session was attended by a distinguished group of members and speakers, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibtisam Al-Abbousi<\/strong> \u2013 Dean of the College of Pharmacy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prof. Dr. Khalid Awad Al-Awani<\/strong> \u2013 Dean of the College of Law<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Asst. Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Rashid<\/strong> \u2013 Academic at the University of Anbar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lect. Dr. Makarim Al-Turki<\/strong> \u2013 Head of the Administrative Board of the Love and Peace Forum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The session addressed several important themes, highlighting the <strong>forms of violence against women<\/strong>, its <strong>causes<\/strong>, and its <strong>psychological and social effects<\/strong>, while emphasizing the <strong>role of academic institutions<\/strong> in raising community awareness and supporting efforts to reduce this phenomenon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event also contributed to <strong>promoting a culture of constructive dialogue<\/strong> among students, encouraging them to adopt the values of <strong>respect and equality<\/strong>, and supporting <strong>community initiatives<\/strong> aimed at protecting women\u2019s rights and strengthening <strong>social peace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This session is part of a series of awareness activities organized by <strong>Al-Maarif University<\/strong> in support of humanitarian and community efforts, in line with its academic mission of <strong>serving society<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default
