An Awareness Seminar on Skewed Ideas of Society at AUC<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, 7th November 2023, the Department of Law at Al-Maarif University College held an awareness seminar entitled (Efforts Must Be Intensified to Address Skewed Ideas of Society).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar was opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Awad Al-Alwani welcomed the generous guest Prof. Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Hamdi Shafi – College of Islamic Sciences – University of Anbar who discussed several important issues targeting society in general and Islam in particular, highlighted the perverse terminology that began spreading in society and trying to tamper with ideas and change from the Islamic orientation and its dispersal, and also hesitated to the LGBT issue and the perverse calls for recognition of their rights, indicating the Islamic and societal rejection of these phenomena from the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Talk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Awad Al-Alwani discussed the issue of what is known as gender, as this term offends the customs and traditions of society and public order, as well as to the use of these terms which appear to be reflected in their subjectivity by personal freedom and others.
Dr. Raed Fitikhan, the lecturer in the Department of Law, spoke of the issue of deviating from the term “empowerment of women” to be employed against it without focusing on the issue of women’s empowerment to realize their rights under Islamic law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This seminar came based on the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboodi, informed by the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up – Department of Development and Human Development, in cooperation with the Continuing Learning Unit at the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
