Introduction<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The University of Al-Maarif (UOA)<\/strong> is strongly committed to fostering gender equality as a central pillar of its academic mission, research strategy, and institutional culture. Recognizing that higher education plays a transformative role in shaping social attitudes and opportunities, UOA has adopted a comprehensive framework that promotes equal access to education, enhances participation of women in academic leadership, and advances scientific research addressing gender-related challenges.<\/p>\n

Gender equality research at UOA reflects the university\u2019s belief that inclusive knowledge production is essential for equitable social progress<\/strong>. This research addresses local and national realities in Iraq\u2014where cultural norms, socio-economic barriers, and historical inequalities have influenced women\u2019s educational and professional outcomes. By integrating gender perspectives into academic inquiry, curriculum development, and community engagement, UOA strives to produce research that contributes not only to scholarly advancement but also to policy solutions, empowerment initiatives, and sustainable development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The university\u2019s research agenda on gender equality is carried out across multiple faculties, including the Faculty of Education<\/strong>, Faculty of Law<\/strong>, Faculty of Business Administration<\/strong>, Faculty of Medical Devices Engineering<\/strong>, and Faculty of Arts and Humanities<\/strong>, in cooperation with the Sustainability and Global Ranking Unit<\/strong>, the Scientific Research Committee<\/strong>, and external community partners.<\/p>\n

Through its research, UOA contributes to advancing women\u2019s empowerment, legal rights, access to health and education, professional development, and social protection<\/strong>, while also supporting national and international gender equity frameworks.<\/p>\n
